Founded in 1880, Fresno was a remote but peaceful little town, surrounded by cotton fields. Reportedly, a settler from Fresno, California, chose the name. At that time, there were fewer that 20 inhabitants; nevertheless, after WWII the population began to grow and peeked in the 1970 and 1980s with the prosperity of Houston.
Today, Fresno is a mid-sized city with a population of around 22,000; a young and diverse community where the majority of inhabitants are African-America and Hispanic and the average age is 30 years. Fresno has great schools and community centers that gather and unifies the people. Undoubtedly, is a great place to raise a family and be away from the noise of the city.
